Irvine, CA - Kawasaki flat track rider Henry Wiles dominated the last AMA GNC Singles race of the year in Springfield, Ill. with his third win of the season at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Wiles led every lap of the main event, coming across the finish 3.5 seconds over second. He finished the season in the runner-up spot, just five points behind first. Wiles also was the man to beat in the Dash for Cash race, earning $1000 for his win.
Kawasaki Under the Tent
Great First Year
Coming off a win in Peoria just two weeks before, Wiles was dominant in both his eight-lap heat race and 25-lap main event rides. Since there was a red flag during his heat race, he was forced to line-up on the outside of the starting line. He got a great jump and led the entire race.
“I knew the start was going to be critical since I was lined up on the outside,” said Wiles. “I actually got a good start and put my head down. I didn’t even know how far in front I was until I looked back at the checkered flag.”
Most Manufacturer Wins!
With the win in Springfield, Kawasaki became the 2008 AMA GNC Singles Series winningest manufacturer. In six races, Wiles brought his Jones Brothers Racing Kawasaki KX™450F across the checkered for three wins.
